Welcome to Our New (Temporary) Reality

14/04/2020 19:07

Dear Parents and Students,

Well, here we go -- our Slow roll Out of the new reality.  I know that no-one chose this method of learning, but it's what we have to work with and if we all work together then we shall all succeed.

Many of you are already familiar with my website and the resources I have put together within it.  For those of you new to my website -- Welcome!

Moving forward with our learning, you will still find the Notes Packages and Flip Sheets (both blank and completed) for each of our units.  You will also find practice assignments and a collection of video clips to go along with each topic covered.  The Daily Work packages aren't here (not enough data storage available) so I will email copies of those to the parents.  They are also available on the MS Teams platforms for each class.  DON'T print them off (very lengthy) - just work through them on a separate sheet of looseleaf paper.

Each week I will set out a learning plan for the week -- of notes and DW pages I'd like you to try to get through during the week.  Don't feel like you have to get through everything -- but do enough so that you feel like you have a strong understanding of the concept so that you can complete any assignments or quizzes on the MS Teams platform.

For the Grade 8's -- just look around the news (newspaper, TV, websites, etc) to find headlines that include a percentage.  Don't forget to include your source.

For the Grade 9's -- spend time this week reviewing your work on Linear Equations and continue to work on the Unit Assignment (from before Spring Break).  There is an Explain Why assignment on the MS Teams to help you review your thinking process.  Don't forget to complete it by the end of the week.

Don't forget that we will have our first Team Meeting next Wednesday.  I will add it to the calendar later this week.

Take care everyone.
